COLOR CODE PREFERENCES IN FASHION.

Color coding in fashion refers to a simple and effective way of preferring some colors over others in such a way that they can be intermixed to bring out a sense of style.

Emotions are powerful and they help us to make some decisions in life.Love is a positive feeling and is associated with happiness, warmth and attraction while hate is associated with anger and hostility. As a fashionista, you want to cultivate a strong and emotional connection with your own style.Just like emotions (love and hate),colors also portray different meanings. Some portray love, anger, danger, loyalty, reliability, honor, depression, power, strength, boldness, melancholia, boredom sophistication,, formality, excitement, speed etc.

Choosing your color code is easy if you know what you’re trying to communicate.

Let’s not forget that the effect of your color coding depends on the style and design they are used in, as well as the color combinations you choose.Example is that too much black can actually make people think that one is deeply depressed since black is associated with depression or that one listens to a certain genre of music, especially rock music, since most rock artists ‘ color code is black. This tend to show the negativity in black more than the positivity it has such as power or strength.

Most of us usually want a more involving color scheme with a variety of colors and make sure they combine in the way want.Having such several colors combined together is known as color blocking.

Others prefer choosing one color code scheme (single-color) or choosing colors that rhyme perfectly together.

We also have a criteria of people who love extra patterned clothes. This type of clothes tend to have a decorative design that repeats over and over a fabric. For such people it’s good to pair the outfit by using small pattern prints with large scale prints.Having two large prints together can make your outfit look too busy.

EASY STEPS TO HELP IN COLOR CODING YOUR FASHION SENSE.

1.The 3 color coding rule; you should not combine more than three colors in your outfit except for black and white. They can be intermixed with different colors and these two are rarely considered as colors.

Personally, I do not do more than two colors combo when it comes to dressing, and I really like intermixing my attire with black. When doing black, the outfit intermixed with it tends to be more bright so as to make my outfit a bit bright hence preventing it from looking dull.

This rule helps your dressing not to appear a bit of a mish-mosh.

2.Categorise your clothes into similar groups of colors.

Divide your clothes by arranging them into different shades according to the primary and secondary color hues;red, blue, yellow, purple, green and orange.Place the clothes with similar color shades together.

3.Arranging your clothes according to the light-dark or dark-light color shades in the closet and wardrobes.

It is usually common that dresses, coats, blazers, tops and blouses should be places in hangers while trousers should be at the base of the wardrobe, though it’s not a must for them to be placed this way.One can decide how to arrange this in either ligh-to-dark shade or a dark-to-light shade.
